i feel for them. if it were me, i would want help. and its a good conversation peice. and i like anythin that could be in a movie. and it would form a good relationship...ect...ect

I certaintly wouldn't help someone because a two thousand year old book told me to. I would help them because pain hurts. If you've experienced pain, and aren't a massicist, this really isn't hard to deduce. If you don't like pain, like me, than it's a good bet you don't want others to go through it. Unless you have some other reason, revenge, sadistic cruelty, etc., for wanting to watch them writhe.

Alright now that we have this established. Next day you see another man dying on the street. This time do you simply laugh and let him die?

True. If the person in question caused me to feel sympathy then I would help. If not, well there's probably a good reason I'd like to watch them die.

Ok so I picked the wrong people to ask this to in which case you will never understand

Sure I'd want help, but I can't force anyone to give it to me. And if I was the person who did something that caused another person to want to watch me writhe in pain, I probably deserve to be writhing all day.

OK so now that we got that out of the way how about telling us how that relates to the topic.

Well you fail to grasp the concept so I will have to make a new example.

A doctor has a patient (no one he knows) who has a life threatening illness. The doctor cures the patient. Later another person (again unknown to the doctor) comes in with the same condition, only this time the doctor does nothing.

and the point is..... what exactly?

The doctor chose to treat the first person and for some unkonwn reason denied the second person the same treatment.

Point please?
