the closest thing to being intentionally ignorant is knowing the topic which you choose not to listen to.

no, you cannot choose not to learn something that is taught to you.

Are you saying that in a classroom every student always learns everything the teacher teaches? Even if they all hear everything not all will actually learn

no, but it's not because they choose to or else everyone would get straight a's and 100% on all tests.

Maybe not for everybody but there are people who will choose not to learn what is taught to them. They hear it and then forget it by concious choice

Do you think that knowledge just affixes it self to those near by? knowledge must be seeked out. I can sit in class after class and not learn anything because I do not want to. The only way to learn is by concious decision to do so.

you can sit in class and not pay attention, which will result in not learning. however you can't know something and then conciously forget it simply because you choose to.
