Increase in rape crimes and sexual freedom

My question is WHY is rape increasing? Does it have anything to do with more sexual freedom (compared to 50 years ago)?

I'm presuming Attolia, that your refering to the increase of rape cases in your country- the USA. The reasons depend on the two types of rape- date rape and Acquaintance rape.
Date rape reasons:
- women issues/pressure in fashion
- the stereotypical image of being a 'man'. Rather sad that is.
both as to what Decius mentioned.
- miscommunication
- socialization + alcohol and/or other drugs can have devastating consequences
- increase of violence

Acquaintance rape reasons:
- attempt to assert power and anger
- some people are sexually aggresive because they are insecure
- Forcing sex on another person makes them feel strong because it makes someone else feel weak

but why is it on the increase? well I believe it has to do with:
- media has a huge influence in movies, TV on fashion changes, violence
- maybe alcohol/drugs are becoming more acceptable
- growing insecurities

i think another factorthat accounts to more more more of anything is there is more more more of the peopel who commit them.

I think that another major role in the increase of rape not mentioned is pornography.

Perhaps rape hasnt increased of decreased, but that would be impossible to really determine as it depends on who admits to it happening to them or not. and only cultural factors can affect if people do or dont admit it.
