To those who ask themselves why continue, (and i have asked myself that many times also) you must try and reverse the question.

Ask yourself why not? Think of all you have and not all you dont have. Because if you end your life now you have NONE of the above. Dont look at the things that you dont like, look at the things you do like. Then see if you would like to lose them forever.

Her, you asked what a purposeful life is. There are many answers I could give you. I think the vast majority of people born waste their time given to them. And I disdain them for that.

But who is to say what is and isn't a purposeful life? Since we dont know for sure, I would say on its most basic level a purposeful life is one that was lived to its fullest.

I really love what you have written here her.

To me THAT is what life is at its grandest. And THAT is why we should continue.

sometimes i want to live because i love the feeling of water on my hands... i love the taste of cold juice... i love the feel of my mother's hand when i lie next to her.. i enjoy reading... sometimes its because i love just being alive.. being able to feel... even when im in an ugly room.. with horrible people.. who are doing nothing but telling me all the negative aspects of my personality... i do remember putting my hand in the bath tub and thinking, if i wasnt alive how could i ever feel such beauty? you may be thinking.. water? yes warm water....

To put this thread in another way, "a reason for living is also an excellent reason for dying". In either case, a sacrifice might be at stake. The question is - must life have a meaning to be lived? The answer is No. It will be lived all the better if it has no meaning.

We live simply because we choose to keep living, we all hold the power of life in our own hands, whether we keep living is our choice, whether we keep fighting to live is our choice. People take there own lives by choice, just as people choose to keep living.

I've pondered on this topic for quite a while now, considering how young I am. Like mentioned before by the others, you just have to accept what this life is and what it has to offer. Because in reality we will never understand life no matter how hard we try to. We will never discover the true meaning of everything. So, why bother to worry about it? The only outcome is a mind-splitting headache. I know sometimes it's difficult to avoid, but there is nothing you can really do about the situation. Some advice: don't take anything for granted, appreciate what you have, focus on everything you love, and enjoy every aspect of your life. The only thing that matters is each individuals well-being. As long as you're happy, things will be okay. :]
