Somewhere in the world there is a child
Whom like us desires many things
But unlike you and I
This boy has different dreams
When he sleeps at night
He dreams of having enough food and water
He does not dream of having
The next installation of Harry Potter
When he sleeps at night
He dreams of not waiting to see who the hater selects
He does not dream of seeing a movie
With some fancy special effects
He dreams of many things
When it's night and he's asleep
Things we take for granted
While we dream of things we do not need
If you were to switch places
If only for a brief spell
The boy might think he's gone to heaven
And you might think you've gone to hell
He dreams of things so simple
Things we possess, you and I
Why can't he have them too
Please someone, tell me why
when you feel like all is lost, remember those who don't have anything to lose.
