RAF bombing raids tried to goad Saddam into war
Michael Smith

THE RAF and US aircraft doubled the rate at which they were dropping bombs on Iraq in 2002 in an attempt to provoke Saddam Hussein into giving the allies an excuse for war, new evidence has shown.

Basra out of control, says chief of police

"The chief of police in Basra admitted yesterday that he had effectively lost control of three-quarters of his officers and that sectarian militias had infiltrated the force and were using their posts to assassinate opponents.
Speaking to the Guardian, General Hassan al-Sade said half of his 13,750-strong force was secretly working for political parties in Iraq's second city and that some officers were involved in ambushes.

Other officers were politically neutral but had no interest in policing and did not follow his orders, he told the Guardian.

"I trust 25% of my force, no more."

Patriot Act not catching terrorists
New York, June 13. (Guardian News Service): Fewer than 10% of the people prosecuted for terrorism in the United States since the September 11 attacks were convicted of crimes related to that ornational security, according to a study conducted by the Washington Post.

Of those 39 people, few had any connection to al-Qaida while the remaining 90% were acquitted or convicted of lesser crimes such as immigration violations or making false statements, the study shows.

The report emerged as President George Bush travelled the country to encourage Congress to renew the Patriot Act, the controversial attempt to counter terrorism by boosting surveillance powers.

``Federal terrorism investigations have resulted in charges against more than 400 suspects, and more than half of those charge have been convicted,'' Mr Bush told the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy on Thursday.

But, according to the Washington Post, the vast majority of those arrested were eventually convicted of only minor violations for which they were either deported or received relatively short sentences.

The median sentence for all of the cases, related to terrorism or not, was 11 months. Of those who were convicted on terrorist charges, most were involved not with al-Qaida but causes and crimes such as Colombian drug cartels, Rwanda's civil war or support for Palestinian groups.

An Interview with Col. Sam Gardiner
The Bush Administration's Psy-Ops on the US Public

(This pretty much lays things out)
http://www.counterpunch.org/zeese06222005.html

Sam Gardiner has taught strategy and military operations at the National War College, Air War College and Naval War College. He was recently a visiting scholar at the Swedish Defence College. During Gulf II he was a regular on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer as well as on BBC radio and television, and National Public Radio. He authored 'The Enemy is Us' an article describing how the Bush Administration used disinformation and psychological warfare – weapons usually used against the 'enemy' – against the American public in order to support the war in Iraq. He has done an extensive analysis of the media coverage before the war, during the war and during the occupation as well as of the statements of Administration officials. His conclusions are startling and of great concern. He has put his findings in a report entitled: 'Truth from These Podia.'

Official US. government reports on soldiers under US command killed in Iraq are so fragmented that they account for less than half of the total number, according to information uncovered as part of an inquiry by the Government of Puerto Rico regarding the total number of Puerto Rican war casualties.

This analysis was confirmed by El Diario/La Prensa's review of multiple documents, including official reports issued by the US Department of Defense, the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior and more than 230 battlefront reports, which reveal that more than 4,076 troops under US command have been killed in 799 days of battle.

This information contrasts markedly with the limited information on casualties generally issued by US military authorities, which focus only on US uniformed troops. These total 1,649.

West turns blind eye as police put Saddam's torturers back to work
From James Hider in Baghdad

IRAQI security forces, set up by American and British troops, torture detainees by pulling out their fingernails, burning them with hot irons or giving them electric shocks, Iraqi officials say. Cases have also been recorded of bound prisoners being beaten to death by police.
In their haste to put police on the streets to counter the brutal insurgency, Iraqi and US authorities have enlisted men trained under Saddam Hussein's regime and versed in torture and abuse, the officials told The Times. They said that recruits were also being drawn from the ranks of outlawed Shia militias.

Counter-insurgencies are rarely clean fights, but Iraq's dirty war is being waged under the noses of US and British troops whose mission is to end the abuses of the former dictatorship. Instead, they appear to have turned a blind eye to the constant reports of torture from Iraq's prisons.

Media Darling Terror Expert Admits Government Sponsored Terror

Loftus Says Rogue Elements of intelligence Agencies Protecting Terrorists

http://www.infowars.net/Pages/Aug05/050805Loftus.html

quote:
We have continually documented how those at the top of British and US intelligence services have again and again recruited, funded and employed useful terrorists. In 1993, the bomb used in the first WTC attack was cooked by the FBI and the driver was under their instruction. It was the same story in 1995 with the destruction of the Alfred P Murrah Building in Oklahoma, again the Feds were implicated, the stooges were under their control. And we know for a fact that Bin Laden was a protected CIA asset, he even had the codename Tim Osman.

quote:
The July 29 edition of FOX News Channel's Day Side programme revealed that Haroon Rashid Aswat, had been working for MI6. Former Justice Dept. prosecutor and Terror expert John Loftus revealed that the Al-Muhajiroun group, based in London had formed during the Kosovo crisis, during which Fundamentalist Muslim Leaders were recruited by MI6 to fight in Kosovo.

quote:
Mr Loftus then reasserted what Alex has been addressing for a long time now, that the whole Al Qaeda Phenomenon began in the mid forties as the CIA was recruiting Nazi Arabs. In the mid eighties Loftus himself testified before Congress on the illegal use of Nazi war criminals by US intelligence.

"The Muslim Brotherhood was an Arab Nazi Movement. The CIA shredded all its files on the Muslim Brotherhood, but you can find out what's in them by doing a google search on two words - Banna and the second word is Nazi. Search those two words and you're gonna find about 20-30 very interesting articles on how this whole Al qaeda stuff began. It began in 1945 when the British recruited this Nazi Arab Movement, The Muslim Brotherhood, CIA took them over in the Early 50s, we hid them in Saudi Arabia."

Loftus pointed out that Saddam Hussian was a member of the Brotherhood by proxy through his family who were directly recruited by the CIA in the 50s. And all this at the same time as the Bush family were directly funding the Nazi Party in Europe, beyond the end of the War and into the 1950s.

quote:
Alex then went on to ask Loftus if he had heard of Operation Northwoods, the official Government plan to carry out 9/11 style attacks on its own citizens and blame them on foreign enemies to provide a pretext for invasion. Loftus admitted he knew all about it and pointed out that it was an operational document and not a wargame.

Loftus also took on Alex's assertions concerning Operation Gladio and admitted that the facts were indisputable.

Loftus then went on to explain and corroborate that Kermit Roosevelt admitted on NPR radio that in 1953 the CIA and British intelligence carried out a wave of bombings and shootings in Iran. Roosevelt then went on to brag about how they subsequently blamed the bombings on Iran's President, Mossadegh. We have covered this extensively in the past yet the mainstream media won't touch the story. Loftus asserted that this is one reason why US ground forces cannot go into Iran again. He also stated

"There was a separate group called the OPC, the Office of Policy Co-ordination...they took CIA money but operated under State Department Control with Pentagon support, so no one really controlled them. These guys operated under total plausible deniability, they weren't ever to get caught, they weren't ever to link America to it. Of Course guys like Kermit Roosevelt thought it was too good to keep secret so they have been bragging about it over the years."

Mr Loftus is just another former Government official and terror expert in a long line who has corroborated our facts and highlights how our information is bang on the money. He concluded the interview by asserting that the very top ranks of the intelligence agencies are so corrupt that they are recruiting terrorists for their own agendas, to make money whilst forwarding an agenda of fear to restrict civil liberties and stop good people questioning the actions of the secret services.

British Special Forces Caught Carrying Out Staged Terror In Iraq?
Media blackout shadows why black op soldiers were arrested

In another example of how the Iraqi quagmire is deliberately designed to degenerate into a chaotic abyss, British SAS were caught attempting to stage a terror attack and the media have dutifully shut up about the real questions surrounding the incident.

What is admitted is that two British soldiers in Arab garb and head dress drove a car towards a group of Iraq police and began firing. According to the Basra governor Mohammed al-Waili, one policeman was shot dead and another was injured. Pictured below are the wigs and clothing that the soldiers were wearing.

London Bomber Mastermind Was Working For MI6

Haroon Aswat – the man British Police believe was behind the London bombings – was working for MI6, it has been confirmed by leading U.S. and French intelligence asset/agents.

Now an FBI agent in Seattle – name removed for security reasons, but can be published at the drop of a hat – has demanded that former USDA federal agent, Dr Janette Parker, stop talking to the British media about how the FBI obstructed their own top terrorism investigator, John O'Neill in his enquiries.
