Cult films |
what is our favourite cult film? What makes it so good? My favourites are Shawshank redemption and Goodfellas. They both have a good plot, atmosphere and excellent dialogue. What do u think of these 2 films?

I think it is safe to say The Matrix series has become a cult favorite as of late. I have to say, these two movies may be my favorite of all time, just because of the content included in them; i.e. Philosophical Science Fiction.........

I find it hard to put into words how to define a 'cult film'. I just know what is. here are a few in my opinion- Apocalypse now, Star Wars, Taxi driver, The Matrix, Butch Cassidy. But i cant say why they are. Butch cassidy and the sundance kid is highly recommended. Just tell me wot ure fav films are guys.

hi im tristen my faves are a clockwork orange,i loved shawshank redemption altho i didn't realize it was considered a cult film. scarface is the shit.any thing by quinten tarantino 's just really my #1. the lost boys,conspiracy theory .goodfellas also a great flic and let us not forget the rocky horror picture show!!!!

When I think of cult I think esoteric. Most of the movies mentioned are good but they just seem to be popular movies that grabbed people's imagination. Rocky Horror Picture Show is a good example. Sure it's been dilluted by all the VH1 specials but still... 'A Boy And His Dog' with Don Johnson. It is just a creepy tale about the future with an ending you would never guess in a million years.

My favourites are Clockwork Orange followed by the Matrix.
Shawshank Redemption was pretty good but it disturbed me when it wasn't supposed to.
*spoiler*
If the main char was so smart to make a false identity and screw up the manager of the prison, wouldn't he be smart enough to make the director believe he was innocent?

Clockwork Orange and 2001: a Space Odyssey are those stunning, disturbing movies which you just gotta love.

existenz - i recommend this to all Matrix fans, its almost like a prequal if you really think about it. plus its got this great kinda "WTMFF!?!?" kind of ending  just like the matrix, it never gives you any real answers

The Evil Dead movies, Night of the Hunter, all Quentin Tarantino movies (especially Pulp Fiction). And I guess Fight Club has a cult following, so I will throw that in there.

anything by stanly kubrick, quinten terrintino and darren aronofsky(i think i spelled all of these names incorrectly) are awesome cult films. fight club was also definitely good. also, the original texas chainsaw massacre and the living dead movies.
