You fail to see the point from outside your bubble. The drive to conform is driven by illogical and vague groupings. You pointing out why they are illoigcal does not negate their existance. It is to be more powerful to be a part of a larger group, and it is weaker to be part of a small group. As a Christian or Catholic you are a member of a larger group. Hence, the desire to believe the proven illogical baseless assumption that jesus died for our sins is attached to a need to be a part of the Christian grouping... whether or not the small group within Christianity you are a member of is the largest of the sub-groups, and irregardless of how its beliefs may differentiate from others. In the end, to believe in Jesus dying for our sins is to associate oneself to the most powerful religious sect on the planet. Which is a sign of weakness, lack of conviction, and a directionless spirituality.
