31st of June. Mysteries of Time.
This poem I have written as the Earth time has been changed to one second more on the 30th of June 2012.

A Second of the 31st of June.
(On the Eve of the 31st of June)

I go into a second, the first and the only one -
A new moment dividing June and July.
So much can happen in the second -
Jiff of birth and joy, grief and departure,
Encounter, discovery, vexation.
So much can fill in the second.
I go there to watch the one-second show,
And plunge into the Priestley's fiction.
A chance to live up one more second of the never day.

'I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.'
J.B. Priestley

If all I ever asked was for a second more,
To live and breathe all the raw and gore
That fills this twirling haven, my terrestrial home
My birthplace, my coffin, my earthly throne.
If all I ever asked was for a second more,
Twas not a god who delivered this timely gift
But a celestial movement, an amalgamation so grand of time and space.

I do like metaphors. They can be equivocal and sent to your mind as "the language" you transmit at the moment. Poetry as a refined art helps to polish the thought. Dawn, it's a very good piece : ) - a personal observation and perception of the time we are given. I am new here and it was the time which brought me to this place. Decius, thanks for comment. : ) Blowing up is necessary in any way for any any one to move up and forward. I do believe that time will soon bring other people here. It always happened to me. We are all slightly mad, aren't we? : )

Welcome to the forums Waterdrop – and thank you for creating this thread, I would not have otherwise felt stirred to take the time to write up that poem. As for madness – it's only the ones who think they're not mad that leads the rest of us to conclude that we are.
