Let it go anywhere [+ favourites]

As i have noticed all these threads have one thing in commen, they never end up where they started. so i propose to just ask a question and just see where the response take it.

Question: What is God?

This amused me so much I just have to put my two cents in. And you probably won't be satisfied by my psudo-mystical answer.

God is...

Whatever you make him/her/it/entity to be.

This is a site for free thought. ANd free though hardly stays on one topic.

I focus on the issue first brought up but sometimes some very contradictory tangents are brought up and I really want to discuss them.

I agree with isilomir about God.

something greater than all humans.. in my beliefs, he is the creator...

of everything on earth and also whatever heaven is

i also had the thought that instead of judging us all individually
perhaps he judges everyone at the same time as a human race at the end of the world.. to see how we as a global society function and get along compared to when we started out..? just a thought

in fact it would be hard for us to judge every single human that ever lived

fact is we dont know

god was said to create us in his image..

now i will change the topic... haha sorry

the question i have is why... i believe in heaven and if the point of life is to see if we make it into heaven then ok but that doesnt tell me why there is a heaven..

and if you explained to me why there is a heaven then i would ask how... and why agian... i would keep asking why
and how.... and i dont know if it can ever be concluded

I have said in other threads that i believe in the energy theory of god and the arfterlife. Therefore, heaven is a type of place that all the energy of the universe can commune. At least its sounds nice.

has anyone seen"what dreams may come"? interesting portrayal of heaven and hell.
I think heaven is in our conscience, like God and like hell.
i dont think there was a point to create it, its what our minds have the ability to think. if we have uplifting thoughts that are happy wiht our lives then we will have good dreams, if we led a shitty unhealthy life then i feel liek well be stuck with our conscience in bad thought .

so even though a person might be a mass murderer and serial rapist, as long as they feel good about themselves theyll be in a type of heaven when they die?

the only thing that would enable a mass murdered or a rapist to feel good about there actions was an unclear mind, however when we die we are no longer in our own mind. its a point of seeing the equality of all and seeing what we did. then we will be able to judge oursleves.

God is a little bit of everything all together. To visualize what that might look like, take everything there is and bunch it all together.

Kind of hard to figure - well anyways, thats what I think God is.

doesnt sound like a very appealing idea thanx. there should be some judgement after this life if there is going to be any afterlife. ive oftne wondered about an afterlife and occasionaly thought that mayb just nothingness would be preferable. what kind of thing do you think will/ would you like an afterlife to be?

it was just hypothetical. there are some twisted freaks out there. and in some scenarios people truly believe it is right to kill. i just wanted to see the justification behind things. i see how a person could have more clarity after death though, and even if they hadnt felt bad their whole life could possibly suddenly realize all their wrong doings immediately after death.
