From your post I sense a very warm thinking human being so I don't know if this will help but don't let it hurt. I grew up in a retirement community so friends were few but close. Funny thng was we would get along fine in pairs but when 3 of us got together, it seemed to be odd man out. Consider that others turn to see if you are going along with them. So they sense an independence of thought, you decide to be part of the group rather than automatically going along. Not really a bad thing being strong enough to think for yourself.
