Another 10 I love:
Silence of the Lambs
Goodfellas
American Beauty
Apocalypse Now
The Pianist
The Third Man
L.A. Confidential
Requiem For A Dream (Not so much love, but am deeply disturbed by. I've decided the fact that I avoid watching it again because of how disturbing it was makes it a great movie)
American History X
Fargo

Once again I'll cheat by throwing four more in at the end:
Full Metal Jacket
Unforgiven
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
Dog Day Afternoon

Well...I dunno you could probably handle it. A lot of it is war but from my point of view the most memorable and well done parts of the movie are in the boot camp parts. There is still plenty of material many would find disturbing.

If you like psychological stuff you should see Apocalypse Now, if you haven't already. An excellently filmed movie that also happens to be set during the Vietnam War.

Full Metal Jacket is best known for the first half hour (or however long it is) at the boot camp... i really loved the very end of the movie as well tho.... all the stuff in the middle just moves to slowly for me however. it gives me that "numb" feeling.... just like all of Stanley's other movies.... not that they are bad, i actually love them... they just make me feel numb.... guess its hard to explain

Finally someone dares appose the LOTR series! I don't agree completely, but it's a relief to hear something other than fanatical praise.

IR: Hackers wasn't too bad for a hackers film... I mean Swordfish was WAY worse. And Hackers had a KILLER soundtrack.

Insurrection wasn't too bad... generations was worse, wouldn't you say?

Did you like matrix 3 more than 2?

I definitely think Escape from LA should be on that list, along with The Postman.

haha The Postman.... its Dances With Wolves gone horribly horribly HORRIBLY wrong!

oh and for the record, i LOVE Return of the King, TT pissed me off because i was expecting Shelob to show up and... no dice! plus it was nothing but action, they kinda forgot about plot in the second one, but made up for it in the last ^_^

I agree with Wyote about TTT in that it was way to actiony- that battle seemed so much less important than in the movie- I was hoping for a lot more ent action dissapointed but not totally disgusted.
I had the good sense to stay away from the postman and Esxcape from LA I beleive you that they are bad- I will go with the crowd on that one.
Decius- Insurection seemed so bland and lifless and cheesy it seemed like it was written by someone who never saw Star Trek at all. Generations I though at first was lowsy but now I have to say it is one of my faves.
