Solitude gives birth to the original in us, to beauty unfamiliar and perilous- to poetry. But also, it gives birth to the opposite: to the perverse, the illicit, the absurd. - Thomas Mann

A World Built By Conflict
Throughout history the number one cause of the rise (and fall) of civilization is conflict.

Harmony does not give rise to civilization. For example, the last peoples who lived in harmony with the world were the American Indians. They respected nature and lived with it, albeit, in teepees and without air conditioning. But the rivers and oceans remained pristine until the Old World inhabitants conquered North America, massacred the natives and destroyed the harmony that existed with Mother Earth.

Conflict, on the other hand, brought us nuclear weapons, two world wars, the destruction of ecology, the violation of human rights, violation of animal rights, slavery, weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, commercials, global warming, serial killers, blogs, etc.... Who in today's world is happy? Exactly, no one because conflict rules the planet. Most of today's technology was built to thwart off military attacks and build one's military more powerful than the others.

Is it possible to ever return to the harmony that existed in Cherokee nation? In the end, all the conflict that exists in the world today will end in the collapse of civilization.

Human civilization is like an Organism. Overpopulation within its certain areas leads to "molecular" collisions. It's inevitable, though I am not a prophet. I used to think about it lately. And I came to a kind of cynical conclusion (sorry) that wars were/are/will be? like operations to clean the inflamed areas. The complexity of the now time is that we have nearly 50/50 clashes in the contemporary societies. Harmony can not exist with feudal neighbours. Minds of people are so polluted nowadays that sooner or later the conflict of the minds will bring the human race to another ideological/physical war with victims.

How and when will it happen I don't know. But this fight will happen. Who'll be the winner?

Another point is how Nature co-ordinates and makes the balance. Nature may add/contribute and "solve" this problem in its own way.

Even an empty coke bottle can destroy the harmony within the tribe. If anyone could own it/ could have his own bottle? But what if there's only one bottle? Anger, jealousy and violence are brought.

The less people in the tribe the better and more effectively the misbehaved can be punished and the situation may be corrected and turned into 'status quo' by the senior(s)/chief(s). The more number of the misbehaved in the tribe the more they dictate their own rules. Misbehaviour turns into "behaviour". The well-behaved are punished and jailed. And then courage is to overcome fear...

The gods must be crazy, must have gone insane...
