Hey, this is a bit of an odd post. Normally I would be talking about something I've come up with. But this time, something I thought of has been around a while... Electric bikes!
Apparently, for around $1500 AU you can get a model that goes up to 25km/h (around 15mi/h) that will travel up to 50km (around 30 miles) per day...
This is clearly an eco-friendly way to travel (especially if you charge up using your own solar panel). For near-city livers, it should be enough to get you to work and back. Seems like a good solution...

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a winning combination, especially if you mounted your solar panels on the bike so you could recharge as you go . . . quiet & eco friendly & light weight, it could be used to access larger ( longer distances or as a means of delivery within a city for parcels, but why not extend the concept to tri or quadra- vehicles or perhaps ad a light cart or attachment that it could pull along (trailer)? In fact I have heard of the three wheeled versions being tried by a fast food (pizza) delivery business.

More portable than a bike, perhaps similar speeds?
