The aquatic ape theory [+ favourites]

This is actually in response to the chance theory of evolution thread. I wanted to post videos on the aquatic ape theory just to add to the interest in evolutionary theories.

The aquatic ape theory is an interesting idea that I saw on a BBC documentary a few years ago and it seemed to answer a lot of questions in my mind about certain water friendly traits in humans.

I like the idea that we used to be able to close our nostrils, the baby's gripping reflex at birth is so it can hold on to its mother's hair under water and of course we all know babies are natural born swimmers. Anyway there are a few interesting details; view it for yourselves and discuss.
