| Stimulus and Response... [+ favourites]
This post was inspired by a subject I am studying where they introduced us to Cognitive Psychology saying that it improved on the previous idea of Associationism (which was a bit cause and effect)... I believe they may not have considered one aspect fully... From what I thought about, what makes a difference to your actions comes from what you are aware from. I'll explain... If you were as certain of the circumstances you've encountered before, you would be certain of the action to follow. As the stimulus is so well-known, there is only one response. What changes is response is not your choice of response, it's your choice of interpretation of the stimulus, as your response for given situation is given... Also, as interpretation is not a static function you do have the ability to change... In addition to this, if your ability to change was not centred around awareness, you would be making changes further away from knowledge... Can you spot any flaws to this idea?
