So information we can ASSOCIATE to the tragedy provides us the ability to EMPATHIZE as best we can. I'm assuming that's why you posted it here (knowing full well that every person is going to ask, "Hey, who's Nick?" ).

It's so popular and cool to act like you know pain nowadays. But you are not in pain, because you are not humble. That is always the exception. Joelb if you feel you want to open up at anytime and vent your anger or grief or confusion or whatever about your friend's death feel free. You obviously want to talk about it that's why you mentioned it, but perhaps you don't know what to say. I have to admit its a new one to me and I can't imagine what you must be feeling, but I know it must be pretty numbing. Just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you at this time, is that perhaps what you wanted to hear?

I just got back from visiting Nick's resting place and I can tell you that the pain is still raw after 2 months. Nick was a good friend of my daughter and his murder has not only affected his family and friends but our community. Nick was 19 years old.
He was bright, kind and athletic and he will never be forgotten.
Parents should never have to bury a child but I cannot imagine losing a child to murder and the fact that it should never have happened makes it much more painful.

was the murderer ever caught?
