Tsk tsk Wyote. There are no rip offs of the Lord of the Rings. Tolkien took all the myths and legends of western Europe and melded them into a grand mythology for adults. It was so inspiring that the entire fantasy genre evolved out of it. Therefore it is impossible for anything in the genre to not be similar in some way.
But if you look closely at Warhammer Fantasy and Middle Earth, they are different in many ways.
I would say the intro for Warhammer online you posted (before I got chance to you bastard. ) is very similar in style to the movies. But that's about where the similarities end.
As for Warhammer Online being better than WoW. I would paraphrase someone else on these forums:
quote: It stomps the shit out of it. Go play it now.
P.S. the only way Warcraft could be a rip-off of Lord of the Rings is if Warhammer is.
"When I was a child I flew! Then as an adult- I watched others soar."
Truly, I do agree with you. But any time fantasy realms are being compared somebody always has to chime in with a Tolkien rant, so I just went ahead and saved them the trouble.
In all honesty, I don't think it's even fair to compare WoW and Warhammer since WoW is done in more of a joking/parody design, while Warhammer is serious business.
I use to play the tabletop Warhammer Fantasy game and also played a few 40K games. This game adaptation (Age of Reckoning) is the absolute best one yet.
