Cleaning a Bong with chambers

Cleaning a Bong with chambers [+ favourites]

Ive got a 2 footer that has a single chamber that filters the smoke when I take a bong rip....but the inside is starting to get very dirty and getting a resin build up. I was wondering if anybody here has any tips for cleaning out the chambers on a glass bong....

Are you trying to save the resin you get from it or do you just want the bong cleaned? If all you want to do is clean it up a little bit then you could just fill it with hot water. Although I'm not positive people do this, I know that if you let a glass piece sit in alcohol for a while that cleans the resin too. I don't know if you'd wanna fill your bong up with alcohol though. Back when I used to smoke a lot I would just boil some water in a pot and throw my glass piece in that for 5 minutes, that did the trick. Possibly you could put the bottom of the bong in a pot of boiling water?

You could use CLR to clean it, apparently it is not very toxic, considering you can use it for your coffee maker and all.

I see...yeah hot water does work for it....ive used boiling water and used pressure from my own lungs to push the water as fast as possible through the bong and its chamber, and it cleaned it out alot....but the problem is that the resin is still in there, and ive used salt or rice and alcohol to clean it, but the chamber has tiny holes so im not sure if that would be such a good idea...i dont want salt or rice stuck in there.

No...i do not want that resin shit.....only the bombest purple for me...

Well you didn't state if it is plastic (glass) or ceramic (etc)?
vinegar works on the java machine so I think it would also clean residue in your pipe?
