Harmful philosophy

Is there such a thing? What would fall under the category of hamrful philosophy?

"How can we be just in a world without mercy and merciful in a world without justice?"

I'm not sure. How would you define "harmful" in this case?

self defeating philosophies.

The definition of harmful is what needs to be defined here.

I would think that a harmful philosphy would be any kind that could be twisted into the uses of one person. That would enable the one person to control a group of people with it.

Philosophies are working theories based on study. They are not belief systems.

A theory is an educated guess, which is not a belief, but indeed, many theorists believe in their theories to be fact.

The distinction I am making is that philosophic belief systems, which I appreciate and understand your fairly accurate point, deal with possibilities, probabilities, and the ability to change.

Whereas the belief systems to which I was referring... do not.

i dont know the philosophy, but The painter Edvard Munch, who created "The Scream" Believed in a currupt philosophy. The Philosophy was created by a German guy who believed "to curropt or be curropted'. Edvard Munch Lived a life of curroption. He smoke, Drank, Opium, Many love affairs, and even venereal dieseases. I say that is a bad philiosophy.

Any teaching that dominates would be damaging

Any teaching that promotes freedom would be good

The truth shall set you free.

The opposite is true of falsehood
