I did not state that this article proves anything. I stated my own personal beliefs (Without referencing singular or large populations... but rather the behavioural trait itself) that coincide with the small experiment this article provides.

Learn to read more carefully. You corrected nothing because there was nothing to correct. Rather, you wanted to implement information about evolution because that may be something you know a great deal about... and wanted an opportunity to share it. But, as I've explained, there was no purpose. You should be comfortable with your intelligence and not need to assert your knowledge solely to prove that you have it.

Meditate a bit more. Then you'll feel more confident and relaxed with the information you have and realize that as long as you know you're smart, you don't need to tell others about it.

Little things like these will dissapear as people begin to meditate. Then, as their brains change to adapt to these new spectacular thoughts, humans as a whole will begin to waste less and less time and thought to bullshit like vanity.

That is fair enough Decius. I only assumed that you were claiming that this study is representative of the human population rather than an opinion. The information regarding evolution, is rather important in reference to the study.

The relevent information you provided is that if meditation is to evolve our species, it must be done for a long time and through a lot of people.

That is pretty much the definition of evolution.... so it is assumed.

Of course, there will be humans born from now until then that will have an altered brain physiology that will be closer to the evolved state. They probably won't survive or reproduce a new form of human but these freak occurrences will be very interesting and insightful.

Like that movie powder... I don't remember it that well but from what I remember it demonstrated something like this.

That you would not need pigmentation or hair or even physical strength. Your mind being empathetic and in touch with the universe makes physical characteristics unimportant.

I think that really depends on the person as an individual to begin with. If a person jumps into meditation because it's the new kaballah bracelet, they are losing their individuality. I do not think that people that pick up meditation for the purpose of gaining peace and clarity of mind fall into the same catagory.

If you think about it, we all strive and yearn to lose our individuality. What else is love?

People fear that concept because they conceptualize that as being a conformist.... but the truth is if everyone sees the truth, then everyone will in essence want the same things...

if they want the same things, then there is no reason to hold onto individuality. Being seperate just slows us down from achieving the things we would as one large unit.

And the eventual result of that large unit would be something like what we view to be God.

So to meditate is to gravitate towards our creator and be one with him and her.

very good points. for me individuality and conformity are exact opposites, perhaps my thoughts are skewed. also, my own perception of conformity is quite negative, as is most peoples that i have encountered.

Not necessarily. Sometimes meditation is the key to discover and develop our individuality .

It can develop our individuality. It could also alter it.

typo :-/

anyway, I agree with you summit. Meditation can be an emotional doorway! In my case, meditation has played a huge part in helping me release alot of myself that I have kept hidden from the world for so long.

I am really interested in that, mindfields.

Do you mean parts that you previously did not feel that you were able to release, or parts that you did not know you had?

I have heard people say that they have felt better as a result of meditation, but could never get any of them to really describe why.
