Actually, an interesting factoid is that porn is the general leader in most media formats.

Human desire for sex and porn have helped lead the way for motion pictures, home video, etc.

I watched an accounting of the history of porn and technology once, it was pretty interesting.

i gotta agree with neutered, it probably is because some people are ashamed to admit to likeing porn, therefore, they go on the internet because it is impersonal, so no-one knows that they are viewing it. its also probably because thay can get what they want without having to look around much.
