Spring
My beautiful winter is over,
gone is the snow.
Through white carpet winks clover,
spring is here I know.
Sparkling snow crystals gone,
in eyes of azure and gold.
Never to hear again love's song,
caring arms never again to enfold.
How can love melt,
like flowing ice in the sun.
How could what was felt,
swiftly like snowmelt run.
Perhaps one day will find,
our paths once again to meet.
If only the gods would be so kind,
for even just a glance in the street.
As I grow old and my autumn falls nigh,
I will think of you and let go a long sigh.
And as I ready myself for traveling on high,
I will be there to catch that last...
goodbye.
