this whole thing is really depressing... them calling that girl the "anti-jessica lynch" really pisses me off tho.

I was very angry when I wrote that post and I forgot to check if I was logged in before I hit submit. *poof* Oh well, it must not have been that important, so I put the link up there.

It is not right that they courtmarshall 6 soldiers for taking oders. Bush started it, but Rumsfield was the main culpret. You cannot courtmarshall soldiers for taking orders. What next, we're going to starte charging soldiers for murder. Courtmarshalling those soldiers is not going to make the Muslim community forgive us. They're not stupid.

This is just wrong, and it makes me angry. I'm glad I'm not in the military anymore.

The most dissapointing thing about this is that although I was opposed to the war, i still believed that the soldiers that were going there were still moral individuals.

It's saddening to know that morality has degraded over the years, not improved.

Its not degraded, a mere two generations ago, the dominant power was actively wiping out other races (as opposed to just humiliating and degrading them).

Its all relative, the French in Algeria were far worse as were the Serbs in Kosova and even the Russians in Chechnya as we speak. I don't think there is a moral issue, this sort of crap happens in all wars. What is more important is that the pictures are going to piss off the arab world even more and justify terrorist tactics.

Relative to how American society is displayed... or at least my impression of it.

Visually, we supposedly have evolved into more moral individuals, whereas the relative distance between what is perceived and what is is larger now than what was.
