wow quite a collection you have there of dark art. I think they look great, but still abit hard to see because of the camera. Maybe if you shine different colours of lights onto them and take pics then maybe itll bring out differnt textures and images? I did art in high school but i never continued it because i havent enough time but soon im going to start drawing painting again etc. What if you did darker shades of purples and reds and maybe some blues would give it more depth?
Are they mafe out of metals?

They are assemblages meaning they are all sorts of items junk and otherwise glued together, nailed or stapled down etc. they are then painted with spray paint (black) some are also drybrushed to bring out the detail. They do look like metal indeed. Good luck with the painting and drawing those are a lot of fun as well
The inspiration her is many things- my favorite artists- HR Geiger- http://www.hrgiger.com/ Antonio Tapies his older works which I cannot find...
Also I think of them as icons of a sort something unearthed from a ruined city a strange device that no one really understands. I see them as cold, mysterious and beautifull in a strange way. I love their texture, strangness and general lack of formal beauty.
photo tip: texture is enhanced with side lighting. Use a couple of lights (incandescent lamps) slightly in front but to the side. The light being more parallel to the surface (art work) produces highlights & shadows of the texture in your work. Use soft daylight as (front lighting) as main source to reduce red shift of lamps when shooting in color.
