of course u are....otherwise u wouldn't be here looking for answers to that lumbering question.

So let me take u outside the box...open your mind and create a fresh space outside the boundries of our existance.

Its a billion years ago....an intelligent life exists somewhere, its not perfect but they are trying.
Today they have evolved to near perfection. No disease, no crime, everyone is the same. Death has become a matter of choice.
Brain mass has enlarged by 50% and net usage increased 15 times. Everyday life has become a mathematical probability. What one knows the other knows. A simple joke cannot exist in this world.

but yet it is not perfect....y?

Why do we think we r better than robots? This race would not be perfect because they would just become mechanical, as you said....no jokes, no fun etc.

Sure, if the civiliztion would have discovered a complete unified theory that is so far the ultimate goal of physics.Once we discover it, we would discover all 'whys', emotions would just seem to be a bunch of made up processes.

The unified theory would answer why we are here....but not why should we stay here. Or should I say stay here in this form.

It could even prove to have profund implications for us. Why should we live? Well, if your into religion, then it's easy to answer, 'to have a glorious after life'. But if you don't, prepare to join the worldwide club. But I think that it is closely linked to the greatest question, why did God create the universe, and this question is closely linked to the question, did God have a choice in starting the universe, which I dont think so.
