The title speaks for itself people, what do you think? good? bad? I'm particularly interested in the Stem Cell research side of things.

Cloning could be useful mainly for stem cell research.
Regrowing neurones and/or body bits for the old and senile/handicapped is very appealing.

Agreed about the stupid people, but what if you could eliminate that persons born-stupidity?

Humans strive to constantly better themselves... could cloning simply be the next step?

well how would we clone people ? clone exact compies of already existing people ? or collect sperm and eggs and make new people ?
the first one is a very bad idea
the second one is pretty bad too, how would that help us better ourselves ?

Cloning full people is fairly pointless IMO. That is, unless you're really into population control. Or if you want some fresh children which can be molded into fanatics for your cause
To "better" ourselves, methinks genetic modification is the way to go, which admittedly is closely tied to cloning.

When a fresh batch of children made for a specific cause is mentioned, it makes me think of that movie Village of the damned. All of the children taking over and killing all of the simpletons left.
