Bible: Fiction or Non-Fiction [+ favourites]

Do you think the Bible should be in the fiction or non-fiction section of the library?

in a library you find the bible in non fiction because it' s the true story of the world and in particular of the christians and of the jewish and maybe for ask a question like that you must be a person don't believe in god

id say neither. Since it does have some facts you could put it in non-fiction. Since we havn't proved all of it we can't trully put it in that section or fiction since we have proven parts right. So i would say you put it in the reliogous section.

Amen, gotta be religious, not to say that it matters that i believe it's true or not ( i do read the Bible and believe it to be a wonderful tool of spiritual learning, but don't believe everything in it to be gospel, get it gospel..). The fact that it's not scientifically proven to be based entirely on fact, and that it's debatable says to me that it should be in a seperate section. The Civil War argument is good but in the Bible they talk about the entire Earth being wiped out, dragon's, humans that live to be over 900 years old and a guy that's actually nice to whores.. =) Wouldn't you say that religion is above fiction and non-fiction anyways?

Yep, in the religion section, but if you were ever to move it, it could also be placed in the Fiction section, loosely based on true events section, or perhaps self help, right between Dr. Phil and God for dummies.

It could even be renamed such things as, Hypocricy 101, The Most Violent Book Ever, Not Without Porn: Regardless of whether you are aware of it or not, World's largest (or almost) Cult Handbook, The Most Recycled Paganism since the Quran, It's Good When God Has Angels Kill Babies...

And many more such classics.

Well leftwood, still the same I see.

By chance, have you picked up the God for dummies book yet?

I see with your lacking counterpoint and usual paradoxical self-righteous but insulting self, that you indeed are the same as well.

This makes for a good example of why it can easily be a book relabled Hypocricy 101.

So I guess I could even thank you for helping make my point.

Jolly good to see you again.

Yeah I was thinking non-fiction because I'm sure there's a lot of books in the non-fiction section that aren't 100% accurate or 100% truthful. It's more an over embellished truth or it's over exaggerated.

Well, to be techy, it could be in 'fiction' the parts Jesus tells parables, it could be in history, where it meets the criteria for history, and it could be in non fiction, because it seriously happened, and it could be in religion since it was the only Book dictated by God.
Drama, is another idea, because it has so much drama.
Mystery...o yeah!
Heck.........put it in all the areas.

All things can be classified as fiction if you consider that nothing is truly known or knowable. Then everything we think we know is speculation and therefore it is fiction.
