The AIDS Thread
I've done a lot of research over the years about the virus, and it has also taken its toll on my ability to go on random fucking sprees. In fact, I think my own perspective on unemotional random sex has somehow merged with the concept of unsafe sex to create a false barrier that interwines my fear of survival with a false sense of moral fear.

That all being said, I am now embarking on offsetting this by firstly accepting that sex is not sinful in any way shape or form unless you genuinely just don't feel good about it, and then secondly accurately understanding the risks involved.

This does not address non-lethal STDs such as herpes and what not, but those are of less concern since dying is really a more important fundamental fear surrounding sex. Pregnancy, of course is another but that, for the most part, is covered by pills and condoms.

So let's get to it.

Brief History

AIDS was first found in North America in 5 homosexual men in 1981.

It found widespread, high profile notoreity primarily in 1985 when actor Rock Hudson publically declared that he had acquired it.

Immediately after that happened, it was the subject of mass public fear, research, books, organizations, and discussion.

It was primarily linked to homosexuals initially, but then the fear was associated to all forms of sexual intercourse.

Initial Statistics

AIDS is a weak transmitter. That means it is very inneficient at transmitting itself from person to person. Many other viruses are more efficient than AIDS.

The most potent way to transmit AIDS is via blood. This has several complications:

1) Anal sex is therefore an effective way to put yourself at risk. The rectum is not designed for intercourse and therefore has no natural ability to lubricate itself. Additionally, unlike the vagina, it is not made up of tough membrane and tears very easily. In fact, during anal sex many minor tears will occur within the recipients rectum, and similar tears may occur on the penis. This makes the possibility of blood exchange high. Vaginal walls, on the other hand, are very tough and do not tear easily as they are designed for penetratiion. In addition, the penis does not encounter un-lubricated space and is able to slide in and out without sufficient friction to warrant tears on the penis. This makes blood exchange less likely in heterosexual sex.

2) Though the CDC suggests that Oral Sex can result in the transmission of the AIDS virus, there have been no published documented cases. In fact, no study has proven that oral sex has led to the transmission of AIDS, though many studies have been performed. In all cases, even when infected men ejaculated into their partners mouths, AIDS was never transmitted. For example, in 2002 a Spanish study was done that investigated 135 HIV negative heterosexuals who had engaged in 19,000 acts of oral sex with their HIV infected partners. None of the 135 HIV negative individuals acquired the disease.

This isn't to suggest that if your gums are bleeding and your partner has open sores all over their genitals and you engage in oral sex that you aren't taking a risk, but evidence strongly suggests that there is only a theoretical risk of acquiring it through oral sex, which places it even lower in risk probability than having sex with a condom with a low-risk individual. (the fact that they do not have enough statistics to determine the probability is in itself proof that if it indeed does occur, it happens so rarely that there are too few cases with which to determine any sort of probability, making it nearly zero).

3) Other STDs greatly enhance the possibility of acquiring the virus. Many other STDs weaken the immune system and can also result in blisters or bleeding in and around the genital area. In a study, it was found that homosexual men infected with AIDS had ten times more of the HIV virus in their semen while infected with gonorrhea than those solely infected with the HIV virus.

In addition to the person with an STD being more succeptible, people with other STDs tend to shed more in their genital area during intercourse increasing the risk of their infected cells coming into contact with their partners. It is highly recommended that if either partner has a known STD, additional precautions be taken, or sex avoided altogether.

4) Kissing will, as with oral sex, carry only a theoretical risk. There are no known documented cases of AIDS being transmitted through it, though it is very similar to oral sex in the way in which either partner is to acquire the disease. (both oral sex and intimate tongue kissing require transmission of the disease through the mouth which is only possible if the person has open sores, bleeding or broken skin.

This is encouragement to keep your teeth healthy by brushing every day and night, and flossing, to keep your gums and mouth healthy. Bacteria weakens your gums, especially that which is stuck in between your teeth and can cause bleeding when you floss. This increases your risk. However, if you brush and floss every day, your gums will strenghten themselves and prevent open sores, both for oral sex and kissing.

The Good News: Main Statistics

The odds of acquiring AIDS with a random person, with a condom, who you are fairly certain does not use intravenous drugs or have random anal sex with people infected with AIDS, is 1 in 50 million.

That means you, as a woman or man, could safely fuck 50 million random average people with a condom, and after that it is possible you may acquire the disease.

The odds of acquiring AIDS from an individual in the same category without a condom is 1 in 5 million. Again, that means you could fuck 5 million average people without a condom, and after that it is possible you will acquire AIDS.

The odds of acquiring AIDS from an individual who is HIV positive while having sex without a condom is 1 in 500. That means you could fuck 500 people without a condom who you know have AIDS, and only then are you likely to become infected.

The odds of acquiring AIDS from an individual who is in a high risk group, though their status in regards to AIDS is unknown, is 1 in 100,000 with a condom, and 1 in 10,000 without.

Let's put all these statistics in perspective.

The odds of being killed by lightning is 1 in 1,603,250. That means you are more likely to be killed by lightning than acquiring AIDS from unprotected sex, for the rest of your life, with people in low-risk categories (non-homosexual, non-intravenous drug users).

The odds of being kidnapped are 1 in 33,223. That means you are about a hundred and fifty times more likely to be kidnapped during your lifetime than acquire aids through having unprotected sex with people in low risk groups for the rest of your life.

The odds of drowning in the bathtub is 1 in 685,000. That means that you are ten times more likely to drown in the tub than acquire AIDS through unprotected sex with people in low risk groups.

High Risk Groups Understood

The two high risk groups are formally homosexuals and intravenous drug users. But let's put that in perspective of actual statistics.

45% of all new AIDS cases in the US are African Americans, while African Americans only form 12% of the US population.

53% of all new AIDS cases in the US are homosexuals while homosexuals form only 4% of the US population.

In 2009, approximately 3.8% of new AIDS infections in the US were with white heterosexual women. The remainder were homosexual men, african americans and hispanics.

This means that of all the possibly unsafe, drug infected, unsafe sex that a white woman living in the US could engage in, which includes having sex with a man known to have AIDS, only 3.8% of the total group of new AIDS diagnoses were attributed to this category.

An overwhelming majority was placed on homosexuals and african americans who have a higher propensity to use intravenous drugs and engage in unsafe sex.

This means, quite clearly, that if you engage in intercourse with someone, just make sure they do not have a history of engaging in anal sex, or unprotected sex with anyone else with AIDS.

If that is relatively satisfied, you are more likely to get killed driving to your lay than from it.

The Social Aspect

Sexual repression has long been a form of control used on populaces to keep them bound to vice. Vice in religion, vice in money, drugs, alcohol and a large variety of other consumables.

I am not spouting conspiracy, as I don't believe there is one man pulling the strings, but society has become indulgent on irrational fears that serve to meld the fear of survival with morality in order to justify intense and immense repression that, when seriously researched, is revealed to be completely nonsensical.

As the above information clearly suggests, it is more logical to concern oneself with being struck by lightning and buying hats and protection from that than to wear a condom to prevent the transmission of AIDS in all cases outside of high risk groups.

The effect of sexual repression is heavily underexamined. Serial killers, without exception, have admitted that a majority of the pleasure they derived from their violent to carnal acts were sexual in nature, the result of deep sexual repression and the self-loathing that is brought about as a result of it.

The very real myth that low-risk heterosexuals are at any real risk of acquiring the disease is nonsensical, yet the way AIDS is perceived and presented is very frightening, and does not isolate itself to genuinely who it should target: Blacks, hispanics, and homosexuals.

And even amongst these groups, it is the choice of lifestyle that matters.

AIDS vs Pregnancy

Condoms typically fail 15% of the time. This means that 15% of the time your condom will break and the man's semen will proceed into the woman.

The chance of pregnancy during unprotected intercourse is approximately 11% most of the time. This means that if you had condom sex 100 times, it would break about 15 times. Of those 15 breaks, about 1.5 times you will make your woman pregnant.

This means that out of 100 acts of intercourse, using a condom, there is a conservative 1% chance of making the female pregnant.

This means that you are far more likely to impregnate someone you have sex with while using a condom than acquire AIDS from condomless sex with someone who you know is infected!

Are you saying that heterosexuals don't get AIDS? Cause as far as I know that's not true.

No, i'm not saying heterosexuals don't get AIDS. I'm saying heterosexual sex in low risk groups don't get AIDS.

As previously pointed out:

Having sex with a condom you have a 1% chance of making a woman pregnant.

You only have a 0.2% chance of getting AIDS from someone if you have sex with them without a condom, and you know they are infected.

Therefore, think about low risk groups and the percentage chance of acquiring it using condom sex. It's 1/50 million. That goes from being odds we can conceptualize to this unreasonable statistic.

It comes down to you can fuck 50 million people with a condom who don't use needles and don't have anal sex with other high risk groups and you will get AIDS once.

Not kidding, I've fucked about 1,000 different women including anal. Some were prostitutes and I didn't use a condom AND, in two cases, there was blood on my dick.

Got tested recently. No HIV.

But the media has done a good job in scaring the public (and the pubic), i agree.
