So, now you're saying people shouldn't explore new and seemingly unlikely ideas?

I don't follow. I'm not sure how you deduced that from what I wrote. Could you explain?

---

I suppose if an idea seemed unlikely to someone, there's very little chance that that person would investigate it. It would probably be like one of those self-fulfilling prophecies you hear about in sociology.

In your arguments thus far, you keep muddling the issue by referencing and making outrageous and superstitious claims that have no scientific basis or generous witness testimony on things that have a scientific basis. This is clearly different than something that has generous witness testimony but no scientific basis.

Let's make a distinction here.

There is a difference between unlikely ideas and seemingly unlikely ideas - as you used in your last post. You had to use seemingly because of the unknown quality we are dealing with. Another way of saying your last post would be:

"So, now you're saying people shouldn't explore ideas that are new and MIGHT be unlikely."

It sounds much more precarious that way, doesn't it? By that we can infer that you, Decius, don't know with any certainty whether the idea is likely or unlikely.

Food for thought...
Is it possible for something that doesn't exist in reality to be conceived of as an idea?

Chris, you really do have a problem communicating what you are actually thinking. Repeatedly, you have asked, genuinely confused, how someone else "misunderstood" what you wrote.

It isn't everyone else, it's you. You make serious errors in attempting to communicate what you are thinking, and then put the onus on the receiver to explain to you your error.

I'm not your dad, neither is anyone else here obligated to teach you how to turn your thoughts into words.

Your failure to humbly try to recommunicate what you are saying and take responsibility for your failure, repeatedly, is very selfish and frustrating.

As a result, I request that you not post in any threads that I create anymore, and I vow not to respond to anything you say anymore. I have attempted to criticize you in so many ways, and your innability or unwillingness to come to the middle is totally unnacceptable.

Everything I have said in this thread has been on the dot, and an attempt to reach your brain. Your brain is not being reached, because you really have no idea how to say what you're trying to say, and conversely, are not attempting to receive anything.

I recommend other people steer clear of you as well.

i'm sorry off topic, you where always off topic too. but decius when you scrutinize people do you do it with a good intention, as ironic as it may sound? do you hope to hammer their walls of ignorence? do you think that hate is the only way to that? we are hated already by few so many...advice...humanize and relate

I say this in a matter-of-factly manner: I don't think you know what causes the ignorance I try to overcome and are therefore not in a position to critique how it is overcome.

then why are you hurtful so much? do you do it intentionaly? Is hate your only means of communicating what you what to really say? there is so much pleasure gained by being hateful but there is so much spirit gained when you try to see through. understanding is not judging by your own parameters but becoming that other person and try to see through. there is some self forgetfulness in communication, it doesnt have to be an annihilation of the other

The last information distortion technique I wrote about is infinitely helpful. I see that you are not coming half-way, and I therefore have no reason to continue.

but yet again you are so tragic and serious. what do you think abt the people who don't give a damn and just play the game for the sake of playing...some children never learned how to play joyfully. and i am not one of them but i am rethinking that all this seriousness ain't just worth it. should i always put on an act for others yet remain true to myelf within my cell, my home, inside my body, underneath the skin? we are but image's, what did you chose to sell to the world?

I like your post, but since it is written in a more abstract manner I can only try to respond...

If you eat a chocolate bar, which is unhealthy, that act will naturally heal itself with time. So, when someone eats a chocolate bar and entices me to eat one, I am joyful, funny and light hearted.

If someone gets a kick out of injecting tumors into their skin and entices me to allow them to inject one into mine, it is hard to smile and receive them with open arms. First, you explain to them why injecting tumors is wrong, how it will be with you for the rest of your life, and that regardless of how good it feels now it could clog up your system and cause serious problems in the future. Small tumors can collect and create some serious blockages.

They still feel that it is reasonable to pursue the pleasure of the injection now, argue its validity, encourage everyone else doing to so keep doing so, and pressing unto me that i am the one taking life too seriously, or, am in err about the nature of tumors.

Now, tumors are a metaphor for lies to me. And, I certainly have tumors in me right now. The purpose of any discussion I have is to protect myself from future tumors with knowledge, and reveal and remove ones I've already had injected in me.

This is a depressing and unfortunate reality... that we have to constantly work to cleanse ourselves of these tumors even though so many people constantly swear by them. It is unfortunate that we have to fight to constantly prevent them from being injected into us, as if everyone else is walking around with the needle.

But, regardless, I find joy and humor in everything else. This is a forum with serious topics most of the time, and most serious topics are layered with dishonesty because the hard questions have all been answered wrong, hacked, or vaguely estimated to find relief from the confusion. So we find ourselves in an environment where it is very likely that people have a tumor in them in regards to many of the topics at hand, and will try to inject one into you.

So it becomes a naturally hostile environment with many clashes and confrontations because people are constantly forced to recognize that they themselves have a tumor in them. They have to go from injecting it into someone else, and foregoing all that pleasure and safety, to stopping and checking their own body for those tumors.

That's an unpleasant experience.

This is the land of cracked eggs. And it ain't pretty.
