I see the great Oz has deleted my post pointing out the error in his presentation....He failed to make a distinction between Orthodox and reform Judaism, only denying the error by insisting reform Jews are not Jews at all. Hateful, arrogant bastard, our Oz, and obviously unwilling to accept correction.

I need not expand on Ironwood's comment as he has stated, succinctly, what my response would be.

However I must say I am at a loss - I don't understand how you can possibly still hold onto your perspective and think I am censoring you when you are so clearly wrong, so clearly incorrect. You're calling me arrogant? I've argued with you with the utmost respect: That you will tweak your mind to be more accurate. Even now, I respect you by trying to determine why you seem so certain of something so obviously incorrect.

The original God of Jews defined Jews and provided them a book of tenets with which to follow. If you deviate from this book, you are no longer a Jew for the word "Jew" is a creation of this very book. You simply cannot call anything else a Jew, for they are not Jews.

Especially ones that disregard the most important part of being a Jew!

Pray tell... do you see the point? I understand that YOU may define Jews as orthodox and reformed, and that within this word to YOU these groups are both contained. However, I created this thread with a more ACCURATE definition, which is the definition of a Jew according to the Jewish God's definition.

So although I understand that YOU may consider Reformed Jews, Jews... they are not Jews in accordance with the original Jewish God's tenets.

I believe the original God's tenets are a more accurate definition of the word "Jew" than your reformed definition, and it is this definition upon which this discussion is taking place.

That being said, I accept your right to define Jews as whatever you want (people that like wine, for example) but that definition is not the definition we are going to use, and it would be better for you to engage in a discussion here using MY definition, since this thread is my creation. It is not your responsibility to correct my definition of what a Jew is, especially when my definition is logically more in tune with the rest of the world, and the Jewish God himself. Although this can still be argued, the relevant point is that I created this thread, and therefore, you must use my language within it. I do not wish to change my definition to yours, so please do not try. Accomodate my definition, or do not engage in this discussion because you will certainly find yourself constantly arguing about the definition of a Jew, rather than the actual topic at hand (which is exactly what has happened).

Decius, your error was in failing to define what you perceived a Jew to be in the first place, leaving the impression that you were describing all Jews as "racist, elitist bastards." You certainly censored me, deleting posts pointing out your error. Had you made the proper distinction in your original post, I should have had no reason to object, since your claims would have been true, generally speaking, of course.

I must say that I take exception to your reasoning, as well, since Judaism is still Judaism after reformation, and it seems obvious to me that your understanding of reform Judaism is severely limited. Of course, none of that is really relevant, and there is no point in going any further along this line, since you obviously concede the exception, barring some trivial semantic objections.

Only about 10% of the world's Jews fall under the description you have posted, and my point was simply to clarify for the less knowledgeable that all Jews are not the monsters you described. I am myself the last of a long line of Jews by maternal lineage, but I reject Judaism (as well as all other organized religions) outright. Reformed Jews are a conglomerate of both religious Jews in the traditional sense and more secular Jews who's understanding of what "God" is often veers widely from traditional perceptions, and they do not necessarily believe that the Torah or Tanach were literally "inspired by God."

You are obviously no fool, and I believe you might very well make some concessions, however grudgingly, were you to learn a little more about the issue.

You know, I actually had no intention of ever returning to this forum after you deleted several of my posts, but I inadvertently found a quote from the site while doing a web search as part of research for another site, and clicked on the link. I will reiterate, simply for relief, that i need not define the word "Jew" in any different a manner than is defined by both the God of the Jews and the holy book of the Jews.

Your definition is a revision, and whatever you would popularize as the definition of a Jew is the deviation from the truth... therefore, it is YOUR responsibility to define the word Jew in the context that you use it, not me.
