| The Fundamental Purpose of Captain Cynic [+ favourites]
From the inception of this site I have had a "feeling" about the purpose but was unable to, until now, word it in a very clear and direct manner. The rules and regulations, administration, and even look and feel of the site will gradually mold to fit this purpose. It is to be re-focussed. The Purpose: Every individual that frequents this site should seek to find, using their own thoughts and the thoughts of others, truths about the world that they particularly find unpleasant. Truths that they may not see not because they are not visible, but rather because the contraints of their own lives actually prevent them from seeing them. Every user must be thirsty for this knowledge. Every member must have a taste for burning themselves. Facing these unpleasant dillusions to cleanse themselves of lies. Cleansing oneself of lies frees oneself - freedom is the one true method of attaining happiness: a free man cannot be brought down, a free man cannot be threatened, a free man is what we all seek to be, a free man is what all un-free people seek to look like, a free man is admirable, a free man restricts no one else's freedom. A free man is returned into their rightful place in the universe, and feels this partnership flow through him like electricity. I am going to purposely make life as difficult and unpleasant for people who do not openly seek to be criticized, who attempt to slow others down, who use manipulative tricks to distort information, who provide misinformation, who are closed minded in any manner, who respond in conformed manners. The only people exempt from being beaten away from the site are those that admit they have defensive mechanisms at work, distasteful as they may be. I do hope newcommers feel welcome and ask me anything they feel is unclear. I hope old members find within themselves an interest in what I have mentioned above. I hope those that think I'm in the wrong contact me to criticize me. I hope those that do not wish to admit they are incorrect nor wish to change themselves say their goodbyes and find another haven to frequent. Decius.
