This is one of my favourite documentaries and I've seen it before (about five times!)

Time travel is a pet subject of mine, I have written a teenage novel involving it.(as of yet unpublished so I don't want to give anything away!) - However I will say the heroine of the story has the biological ability to time travel and I got totally swept away with the concept and it really got me thinking a lot about the theoretical possibilities. In my story I talk about the theory of relativity but I talk about stuff like the speed of thought and describe scenes where she has moved through time and also what happens when she freezes time - which really would be impossible (or would it?) - Thanks ironwood you made my day!

I like this video.

the question is is going back into the past possible?

I can only see this as possible if it is possible to go faster than the speed of light by cheating if it is also possible to go from a spacetime point to another point with the same spatial dimensions but a different time coordinate. Kind of like the earth plan where you go so fast as to go faster than the speed of light and therefore other particles, thus effectively going back into the past. However, I doubt this as this would itself require a seperation from space itself and would require a new set of laws of physics I can't imagine.

Anyway; why go back into the past? the futures more fun.
