Official Captain Cynic WTC 9/11 Thread

I am creating this thread to explore all the factual evidence there is in regards to the actual nature of demolition and the manner in which buildings fell in NY. I am trying to determine if the buildings fell in a way that is consistent with the explanation we have, which is that jet fuel weakened the steel beams and caused it to collapse. At this juncture I am not bound in any one direction, although I feel it is likely that the manner in which the buildings collapsed was a controlled demolition, solely by the nature of their collapse.

I am interested in this information because I feel extremely emotionally heightened whenever I see a video of the collapse and wonder what it must have been like in those huge buildings at those last moments. I wonder what it must have been like to be in the window that got hit by the plane, and I wonder what goes on in the minds of the families of the victims.

I feel it is necessary to know what happened there to adequately give peace to those that have suffered as a result of it.

This is a full length video that focusses on the demolition of the buildings and addresses factually the official story and how that relates to actual demolition.

Although apparently made by a republican conservative, it does lean towards the left. Nevertheless, the information itself is what we are focussing on.

It is also important to note that this is a recently released video and is held by most as one of the most factual and well documented documentaries examining the collapse of the 9/11 buildings there is. It is available on DVD as well.

Information I have gathered thus far:

In close range video tapings of the WTC building collapses there is a large thunderous sound heard an instant before the building begins to collapse. Since sound travels much slower than light the visual representation of the building collapsing should not only not be at the same time as the sound, but precede it.

The WTC was actually created with the purpose of withstanding a 707 airplane crash. This is because an army plane crashed into the Empire State building prior to it being built. The planes that crashed into the WTC were 767s. Although they were bigger, the developers of the WTC claim that it would have withstood multiple 707 crashes.

Prior to the WTC, there had been numerous long term (20 hours +) fires in highrise steel buildings. Prior to the WTC, there had been no recorded collapse the result of the fire.

Very recently they found miniature human bone fragments on top of a neighbouring building. It is unexplained as to how miniature human bone fragments got there from the WTC or how they could possibly have been as small as they were.

The speed at which the buildings collapsed in all recorded videos indicates difinitively that the explanation for the lower floors' collapse is invalid. This is because the buildings collapsed at a "free fall" speed. This means that the upper debris met no resistance as it fell. Additionally, much of the debris was still falling as the lower floors buckled. This makes it less and less probable that the explanation stating that the weight of the upper floors collapsed the bottom ones is accurate. The WTC collapsed in approximately 9 seconds. Using simple physics and air resistance, it is found that a billiard ball dropped from the top of the WTC would take 9 seconds to fall. Using computer estimates and taking into account the resistance of every floor, the WTC would have taken approximately 90 seconds to collapse if it was buckling under the weight of higher floors. This is ten times longer than it took.

Similar to the bone fragments, large metal beams (some as large as the airplanes themselves) were flung in various directions and actually lodged into other buildings. There is no explanation for this phenomenon.

There are clear explosions extremely similar to planned demolition explosions that can be visibly seen in almost all WTC videos. These visible explosions ejected debris horizontally in the air 2-10 floors below the collapsing floor.

Compressional forces being suddenly released could cause the steel beams to be projected especially considering the outer walls being sheared as floor sections fell toward the ground floor. The time factor is another story as the collaspe of floors would have taken longer than free-fall, one possibility is that the center section (around the elevator shafts) decent was shrouded by the smoke & the exterior of the building till lower floors structural failure resulting in the sudden building collaspe.

I have been arguing this in another forum. A religious right wing forum, all they could do was insult me but could not explain how two airplanes could take down three buildings at free fall speeds on top of their own foot prints.

The argument is that the jet fuel started a fire hot enough to weaken the steal frame causing a floor to collapse, thus creating a pancake effect causing the buildings to fall straight down. This not only happened once, but three times.

Bombs and airplanes have hit buildings in the past, however, no where in history has this ever happened before. And still, this does not explain how the buildings fell straight down or at free fall speeds. This theory is so stupid that no one dare put their name on it, so the official line reads, "experts say."

Ascribing the fundelmental balistic may be of value? As the airplanes crashed into the building at levels higher than the surrounding buildings, where wre the locations of these beams & at what angle did they penetrate the building(s)could provide valuable insight.

Assuming that the upper levels fell in tack into the lower floors doesn't imply that set charges were not used to structurally weaken the buildings or that these monliths of the Modern World are not designed to fall in rather than fall over?

In the video linked by OkCityKid there was a bright flash & what appeared as flames so it did look to be an explosion of some sort? In the first video, Ialso noted a thick cloud of smoke rising from the area below the near roof line in front of the tower. It is more than evidence to see that something happen before the tower fell but it would be hard to prove anything.The metal beams which struck other buildings, did they strike the walls of the building near the towers or were they near the roofs?

Jesse Ventura Speech Rally for the Republic

This is the most compelling video I have come across. I cannot prove it's entirely legit, but I can't find anything that disproves it either.

Building 7 being reported as having already collapsed when you can clearly see the building fully intact in the background.

Phil Hayton and Jane Standley don't seem to know what to think about their own report.

The BBC's official response:
We're not part of a conspiracy. Nobody told us what to say or do on September 11th. We didn't get told in advance that buildings were going to fall down. We didn't receive press releases or scripts in advance of events happening.

In the chaos and confusion of the day, I'm quite sure we said things which turned out to be untrue or inaccurate - but at the time were based on the best information we had. We did what we always did - sourced our reports, used qualifying words like "apparently" or "it's reported" or "we're hearing" and constantly tried to check and double check the information we were receiving.

If we reported the building had collapsed before it had done so, it would have been an error - no more than that. As one of the comments on You Tube says today "so the guy in the studio didn't quite know what was going on? Woah, that totally proves conspiracy...
