Gas boycott? [+ favourites]

I stumbled across a post on another fourm about a gas boycott day on April st.
Do any of you think that a gas boycott day would do any good if if people participated?

How will that work?

We have to eat, we have to work, we have to go places. You can't boycott something that is used commercially and is also necessary for survival.

A taxes boycott would work.

Hmm . . . a gasoline boycott? Ya mean we should boycott (restrict) our useage of gasoline, like ride a bike or walk or take a bus (sharing a ride) or other overt acts of conservation?

I highly doubt enough people would participate. Some people have no other choice but to take their car [and spend money on gas.

aggred. Looking at everything that needs gas this is pretty much imposible. However a boycot of something else would be more recomended.
