I'm ridin' in the car
On my way to Northwest Florida.
Thats right, you guessed it.
I'm still thinkin of ya.
Drowning out the noises
Of the child and the tunes.
Trace Adkins is pretty good,
But he just cant replace you.
I really dont like this song.
But thats why i have your memory.
It is what i hold onto in the dark.
It keeps me company.
It's getting dark.
So Ima needin your light.

To hold me tight.
The other company is good,I guess.
Jose is pretty cool.
But Ten Rounds aint what I want.
I think you can guess what I do.

Write some poems without saying "I." If you write in an active tense, you can express ownership without saying I. Also you can create a more poetic feel if the raw feelings and emotions are the center instead of the personal experience.

Well not necessarily, but that is also something to consider. It is just good to break away from your conventional way of doing things from time to time. I just observed that pretty much all of these poems say "I" in them and it's important to remember that poetry can go just about anywhere and do anything. That's why it's poetry

I need to start over.

your first poem about driving down a country road actually happen to me i missed the deer by about a inch going probly over 80 but that poem really speaks to me.
