i know what you mean tommy, but i think i might have used the wrong word. i dont think i quite meant blashpemy. i cna imagine some people seeing wanting to be a deity, as wanting to be gods equal, or more likely a rival, which goes against every religion. they want you to worship their god(s), if u are one then u are another god who might want worshipping, not a worshipper of their god. it could be seen as you thinking you could do a better job.

wyote jainism sounds quite interesting, but i think is a little different from what conway and i were thinking of.

Haven't realized anything until now, at 22 years of age. I think my life has come to a halt. When im' in my 30s, i'll look back in time and pretend that i was in a coma for 10 years.

My friends why is it that my all of you tend to agree with me on our Godhood. Yet the other day when I was at the river drinking with a bunch of friends, I brought up the subject on God and they got mad. But yet they still talked about it. Further more why is it that when I mentioned being like God they really got mad. As if I was truely committing a sin. My friends said that that is what satin did and that was why he was thrown from hell. But Satin wanted to "be" God, not be like him. It is like Cynic said, the power doesn't mean shit, it's the understanding that does. Why do just a few of us really see that this is all that really matters in life. And why can we not change peoples views, even when you point out to there face how their ideas make no logic.

its difficult to discern between things. does being as like minded as God cause you to become God? is knowledge truly power? or does God have something in which nothing else can? if so, what would that thing be?

conway- i imagine your friends simply did not understand the messege you were trying to convey. to a christian the notion of wanting to be like God is an act of sin, Envy.

Careful not to stereotype too much with the term "Christian" Wyote.

i think the idea of wanting to be like god, depends entirley on why you want to be. i had forgotten that Satans crime was that of wanting to be God. but religion tells us to seek truth and understanding, so from that point of view, it is an admirable wish. though i find the point of view that you would be challenging god understandable. i will however conceed that the power would be interesting, it would be nice to make a universe, to understand what was involved, but that truly would be enroaching on gods territory.

Another revelation I had when I was 25 was that, as much as I devoutly believed that truth (to the purest extent) was the single best friction reducer for interactions between people on any level, It simply did not make sense for me to demand it of people. I found that various pressures, perceived or otherwise, prohibit many people from getting past a fear of judgement or retribution for telling the truth. Therefore, I concluded that a far better action for me to take would be to make it easier for people to tell the truth so that truth would be the natural course. If people had no fear of being punished for being honest, many good results could follow. Trust in each other being the first...
