is deductive logic really that philosophical? [+ favourites]

i guess you can philosphise on anything.. but im taking a deductive logic class and i dontknow why i ust feel so limited by deductive logic.. its all prescibed formulas.. i had some theories (such reasons why x is not an x may not be a contradiction) anyway stuff like that i wouldnt even say in class casue it just didnt fel right.. w were going by formulas and to me the word logic lost a lot of the meaning i thought it mean.. so many things i dont agree with are considerd "logic".. should i drop this class if im moreinto philosphing aobut things.. the only reason i would keep it if i were able to incorporate my personal theries then use these logic formulas to help the structure of backing it up <or is that ignorant to say?

Deductive logic is aimed more towards hard science learning. If you aren't going into hard or physical sciences and/or engineering, than you probably don't really need it cause you want your mind to be more free flowing. My 2 cents (now worth .0043 cents due to recent inflation rates).
