How do you keep from hating a mother-in-law who constantly lets you know that you are not good enough for her only son. Great husband but total mamma's boy and she manipulates him terribly. I need to find a way to deal with her for the sake of a happy marriage. Any ideas?

physically show her the great things that you do for your husband. if she witnesses you having a positive effect first hand, she may change her tune eventually. if that doesnt do it, try confronting her head on. ask what it is that she doesnt approve of, and attempt to make some changes and compromises. you give a little, you get a little.

dont be a wimp though. make sure her feelings are validated, but dont bend over backwards to please her.

some people are just like that, you may never be good enough in her eyes you could just ignore her, or stand up for yourself, tell her to butt out, that your marrige is none of her buisiness, and talk tp your husband, let him know how you feel,your his wife he should tell his mother that he chose you, he loves you, and thats the end of it

So you think that you are the perfect person for your husband?

That a highly educated, stunningly beautiful, millionairess isn't what he needs?

I say don't worry about it. Just tell her that either one of you is right, and to wait 20 years to see which one.

If she's still alive, and you two are still married, with no big problems. You can laugh in her face!
