In a sense, finding happiness is like finding yourself. You don't find happiness, you make happiness; you choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who you are, who you want to be, and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment in your life over the long run. Happiness is a state of being only you can create. Now, when it comes to basic living standards, money can influence happiness. Simply put, money makes a significant contribution in the lives and happiness of people who have little of it. But after the necessities are met, money seems to have little effect on our happiness. Money can be immediate gratification that may lead to pleasure but may also lead to unhappiness. According to Buddhist philosophy, Happiness is the ultimate goal in life. But if we want happiness, we can't get it by making it our ultimate goal but rather only one of our goals. The rest may incude self-less love, self-worth, and many other things that in the end, all result in the happiness of the specific individual.
