ISLAM (the Arabic for "obedience", "submission to God" is one of the most widespread religions in the world. There are Muslim communities in all countries of the world. They unite 1,200 million people. In 35 countries Muslims are the majority, and in 29 countries the followers of Islam comprise influential minorities. In 28 countries Islam is acknowledged as the official religion of the state: Egypt, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc. are among these countries. The vast majority of Muslims is concentrated in Western, Southern, and Southeast Asia and in Northern Africa.

Even though Islam is comparatively young, it has already formed the aura of wisdom, firmness, and antiquity around it. Countless traditions, rituals, and customs have appeared. Almost all religions of the East absorbed Islam, passed it through and created what Russia and the West call it "wise" and "mysterious" East. Here we will try to lift the veil of mystery and ignorance for you and show you what the things really are. May Allah help us!

The widespread nature of Islam is indicative of only one thing: Imperialism.

A Christian could go on stating how widespread Christianity is, as could a Jew.

Mind you I know this is just a patriotic little shpeal. Problem is you can replace many of the key words in there and you'd be promoting Hinduism instead, so it's innefective to the trained mind.

Rollerboy, what were you trying to prove by posting this? Because if your intention was to make Islam look any better, you failed. Try again for the sake of your religion.

Islam is a personal faith between you and God, you can't bring Ummah by preaching it like that, even though I agree historically Islam brought great advances to this world, including in medicine and mathematics - there is a book that I have been wanting to read, it's called The Two Faces of Islam, in which the imperialism that Decius is mentioning is discussed.

I agree with him, I think the Saudi Royal Family has pretty much fucked up the idea of religion altogether for personal and political interests, and as a result most of the so-called Islamic movements today are actually a cover-up for politically-driven agenda. And that, is not personal to Islam, you change things around a bit and you could be talking about the corruption of Christianity, Hinduism, godknowswhat. It's just Islam right now that's been prominent in that sense -

Christian movements that were politically-driven led to massacres of people and pointless wars for centuries, all of Europe was plagued with the Dark Ages and nothing came of it.

Rollerboy - I your post to be an introduction to more information, are you going to elaborate? The sharing of information, particularly of ones religious tradition, is the key to eliminating a lot of the conflict so rampant today. I would ask you to refrain from preaching or trying to convert people though. We pagans are quite happy and secure where we are, and love our Gods and Goddesses very much, thank you.
