What happened? Remember the world before Desert Storm. Everyone was glued to the TV in mortal fear remembering Vietnam, praying it would not happen again. Desert Storm brought us victory and new pride we've not experienced before; while the Clinton years brought us a new prosperity we had not known before. Bush would have failed and was failing, and then came Bin Ladin. He was the spark that ignited an evil empire that takes from us and gives to itself. We don't care, the heart of our new found pride was twice struck, and we returned the blow to whomever, because we could. I think people are slowly beginning to wake up, but how much damage will have to be done first? And will we fu*ck up this democracy again some time in the future? Is this a recurring thing, like the dog who returns to its vomit. Our self destructive nature, we must not allow ourselves to be to successful for to long. It is written that when God made man, he repented. Go figure.

I thought the Shiite's were the majority? But here is the one posted on Michael Moors site, it's probebly more accurate.

quote:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Tens of thousands of supporters of a militant Shiite cleric filled central Baghdad's streets Saturday and demanded that American soldiers go home, marking the second anniversary of Baghdad's fall with shouts of "No, no to Satan!"

If we only would have listened to the military generals?

That was good - He told them, he told em good. NPR didn't even cover it, them a*s h*les. All I heard on NPR was that he kept changing the subject..

Unfortunately NPR is the only real news source I can get here in Oklahoma. But I bet Democracy now covered it.

I have to post that on my blog, others have to hear it.

I didn't know a lot of this stuff. A million dead Iraqi children because of our Sanctions, but thank God for the oil for food program, starving children could then eat. I have not heard one discussion about this. No - we're to busy debating Terry and Michael and whatever else can help us look away from the big picture.

I just got finished watching Democracy Now - and they covered it.
