<these are lyrics to a song i've been working on for a couple of months. i just finished the second verse and need one or two more and then it's done. im kind of proud of it so i figured id post it on here even though its not finished yet.>
checkered, pale streets; starless cleft of sky
moon-screened city, acid washed in flaccid lights
tethered dreams subdued beneath
the weltered beat of satin shadows
heavy pockets cut us off from
running lights and second hands
in and out of time; damp and lost behind
limp reflections in my ashen, stiff high-rise
anesthetize a dead release
from galvanizing reds and yellows
bleeding down the canvas to leave
