i think captain cynic is the most appropriately named website in exsistence... in corrospondance to its purpose and all that it encompasses i mean.

To act upon your cynicism is what distinguishes you from the rest, because then you have become a leader.

not true, there are people who are as sure that there is no god as there are people who are so sure that there is a god.

personally i find both extremes irritating.

yes, i suppose that anyone who doesnt have an answer would find anyone who believes they do irrational, close minded, and really, intellectially inferior. But, Wyote, isnt that hypocritical? I mean, you are perfectly sure that people who are perfectly sure are wrong, and yet you yourself are perfectly sure of their wrongness.

i said irritating, not irrational. and for your information, i am "perfectly" positive that people who are "perfectly" sure of the exsistence of god are "perfectly" correct.

Yes, people may think that they are athiests and that there is no God, but that is plain stuipid, cuz how can believe or disbeleive in something if u don't know what that thing is?

What are you saying then Wyote? I'm sorry if i jumped to conclusions, but in my experience when i find someone irritating because of their beliefs, it is because i dont believe those beliefs, and think they are close minded for being so sure.

i find both extremes irritating because generally (in my experience) each extreme makes many many attempts to change other peoples ideas, while belittling anything that seems out of the ordinary to them, or incorrect in their mind.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but with the extremes everyone elses opinion is incorrect.

ya, people get so excited about being right, they forget that they are only right for what they think is the ultimate purpose and or destiny of mankind, what they have decided or simply came to believe (usually through great influence) that they NEED or want to do with their lives, and apparently others.

Kind of like those people saying freedom isn't free,
few have given their life for freedom . . .
some have taken life in its name.
Doesn't mean it should cause us to do these things?

Jesus never taught taking material wealth let alone life.
No one was forced into adherence to the Christian mandate,
it required an honest acceptance & adherence.
Yet they have justified their warring nature, seeking after their own way rather than accepting His (Jesus) Way.
