Shit happens as priorities change, I guess. Some people get married, some people get pets, some people work all the time. But its necessary, to survive... so relationships must change.
Priorities do change, however as that persons priorities change he should not let the previous priorites die. What is needed is for both "priorities" keep making them priorities.
