Let’s pretend that there were no riots, violence and bombs. That the Iraqis believed in us and didn't torch their own power plants. Right now we’d be fixing everything we bombed and settling with relatives of those killed. In no time at all Iraq would be a democracy and soon would be cranking out a profit for both us and its people without the unjust dictatorship of Saddam. Whatever it cost us - no problem, we'll be repaid and everyone will be happy.

These are delusions of the self-righteous that believe they can fix everything. They've read to many storybooks, watched too much TV and have lost site of reality and their own true selves.

I will honestly admit that I don't perfectly know what is right and wrong and have made wrong decisions myself. This I do know: Our soldiers took an oath to fight against the enemies of our constitution. They, and all of America was led to believe that there was a threat (to our constitution, because our boys don't go to war for no other reason, at least, they shouldn't, because we don't pay taxes for anything else and they didn't volunteer for anything else, then to protect of us from enemies of the constitution). As soon as we discovered that there was no such threat we should have stopped, admitted our mistake and began to back peddle out of there, as we did not belong there. That would have been the right thing to do. But instead, our administration has decided to continue on, rewriting the story as they go, apologizing to no one.

We are guests in a foreign land and should proceed as such. To do anything else is wrong. When you do things that are wrong, bad things happen. It is the law of nature.

Yes we had good intentions and the dream was wonderful. Ok now, lets wake up and do the right thing. The Iriqis did not agree to become apart of our dream, regardless of how nice it may be.

My reply to a very good post from a young man who has studied the situation very carefully and believes in American. Good for him, but we are still wrong.
