independent films [+ favourites]

anybody ever watch ifc or the sundance channels of you have digital or sattelite or something? ive been watching them a lot for about two years, and some of these movies are better than most mainstream movies. some indies that i really thought were awesome(in no particular order, although buddy boy was my favorite):
1. Buddy Boy
2. Chasing Sleep
3. Requiem for a Dream
4. Pi
5. The Darien Gap
these movies are all sort of artistic, and a lot of them are really weird and kind of disturbing, but i guess i kind of like all that about movies. also that movie about schmit with jack nicholson that just came out was independent, and theres a part where he goes to my little hick home town(north, platte, ne)--i thought this was a pretty good one too.

Requiem for a Dream is very good... very unsettling... but very good. i have heard that Pi is a great one and its up high on my list at the moment... have you seen Hurly Burly, Windup?

We have the IFC it is great - when you can actually find some time to watch it.....
another indie film i liked=
Hyaku Tunnel

I definetly love the films that shed the hollywood stupidity. Years ago I was a real movie fanatic then a pattern started to emerge and I started to seee through all the stereotypes and lame plot devices and then I could not see beyond that and became very cynical towards film- I still am but only to the Hollywood trash. The indie films are such a nice departure

I love Amelie. I know its not an indie movie, but it is not a Hollywood cookie-cutter piece of shhh either.

... and it happens to be my favorite, so there
