I think I am a softie myself. I simply have no ability to help people return to church. But it a desire I know that God has. I have no merit myself, in anyone returning to God, or to church. So when I tell someone something, it is for their own good, and peace. God gave us alot. His only Son died in our place. He took the yolk of our sins, and cleansed us through His passion and death in the most humble of ways. The crucifition was the most humiliating of deaths in those days. In fact, it still is. Even at today's standards, men are given a lethal injection, and they pass away ina secluded place. Even with camera's, it is still more humane than the cross. God gives us so very much, and all He asks is for the love and desire to be returned from us to Him. He waits each day for our prayers. He doesn't need them, but He loves us more than the sparrows. Giving Him your undivded attention for at least 52 hours a year is not asking for the world in return. Matter of fact, Jesus talks about His Bride, His church. He told Peter to feed His sheep (in His absense here on earth) He gave Peter the keys to His kingdom. He also made Peter the rock of which He would build His church. So, church is not really all that insignificant. It is really pretty important. Or He would never have mentioned it, or given the resposibility to Peter, or anyone. Still, the heart must be awakened. The fire must burn to desire God. If someone goes to church but has no love, it has no meaning. In the circle effect however, if we go to church, and hear His word, and ahve someone talking to us about Him, that helps keep the fire burn for Him. If we fall away, then we do not have assistance at keeping ourselves strong. One thing I missed when not attending mass regularly was the Eucharist.
