I was at school and i try to access this website on the school school computers. When i typed it in, the screen stated websites with the following material, anarchy, drugs, sex, blah blah. I was struck dumb founded. Why would the school want to prohibit the viewing of this website? And what ordinance is this website under? Adult?

I R Me

I think the site is restricted because they wish to protect developing minds and this is a 'den illiterary sin' that you need to be sheltered from.
I think whenever an attempt is made to block sites for example porn sites certain key words that appear as part of a site would be criteria for blocking. here is an example I was reading about earlier a student in a Canadian high school was doing an essay from internet sources on the beaver- the dam building critter. That word was part of the word list that is filtered as pornography related- in the end they simply had to choose another topic. I would imagine it would be impossible to sort sites individually - so what can you do? The internet needs a whole lot more organization or at least a responsible search engine of sorts.
