Sadham Hussein allied himself with the fundamentalists when he paid off the families of suicide bombers in Palenstine. He also has allowed fundamentalist terroists sanctuary in Iraq. While posing as a secular leader he gradually relied more and more on fundamentalist support.He has gassed, tortured, and killed his own people, his family, and Iranians in the Iraq-Iran war. Sadham is responsible for numerous mass graves of dead human beings discovered in Iraq. Whether Hussein is actually fundamentalist himself probably doesn't matter. He sure tried to rally the support of fundamentalist terroists by proclaiming his own terroist rule was the will of Allah.

I thought Fundamentalists were a group of religious people, also called born again's.

Saddam is a freak of nature.

Sadam's goals may coincide with fundamentalists. But he is not a religious nut. He is a secular bastard.

I think you can say it was Fundamentalism that put Saddam in power. That is a way of thinking that will take hundreds of years to change. I don't see a whole lot of evidence that anybody over there really appreciates us taking Saddam out. The sooner we are out of there the better off we will be. Invest our dollars in other fuel sources other than petro so that they cannot offered to support terrorism. They say they do it for Allah, ya the green allah.
